ADHD is the most common behavioral disorder in children.  It is characterized by age-inappropriate levels of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that impair one’s functioning per the American Psychiatric Association.   

Recent studies reported a relationship between low levels of Vitamin D and incidence of ADHD. There is growing literature implicating that iron supplementation should be investigated as a potential intervention to optimize response to medications at a lower dose in individual with ADHD and low iron stores.
